A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §24-1-10, relating to the Director of the Consumer Advocate Division of the Public Service Commission; requiring the director be appointed by the Governor with advice and consent of the Senate; and specifying the director’s term of office is to mirror the Governor’s term of office.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

    That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §24-1-10, to read as follows:

ARTICLE 1. GENERAL PROVISIONS.

§24-1-10. Governor to appoint director of Consumer Advocate Division.

    The director of the Consumer Advocate Division shall be appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate. The director in office on July 1, 2014, shall, unless sooner removed, continue to service until his or her successor has been appointed. The director shall serve for a term of four years, which shall mirror the Governor’s four-year term of office.
